With no experience as a blogger, but years as a veggie grower, I began this blog April 5. It is part of my volunteer hours as a master gardener and after a truly slow start with cool temps and wet soil early on, now the garden is producing well. I have made some pictures, but have difficulty getting them into the website.
I have learned from the UK extension service, nursery catalogs, the internet and other gardeners. I want to hear from readers what your thoughts and questions are. Send your input to Normanblogger@gmail.com.

Patty went out after supper and got beans, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash and onions. Again she eliminated a handful of Japanese beetles. She reports one inch of water in the rain gauge which includes the thunder storm from yesterday and another half inch that fell in the early hours this morning. This rain came just in time. Everything should jump up now, including the weeds.

My back has been very sore for days. Patty is harvesting most of the veggies now. She went out early and brought in squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans and Swiss chard. In the late afternoon we got a thunderstorm that brought high winds and nearly a half inch of rain.

Patty went to the garden early and brought back cilantro, basil, lettuce, arugula, green beans, zuchinni, yellow squash and 16 cucumbers. She harvested and stamped out a handful of Japanese beetles.
