RAISED BEDS  After supper Sharon, Audrey and I joined four residents to do some weeding and to create cages for the tomatoes using stakes and grass twine.  We also replaced four tomatoes with new transplants.  We discussed how, when and how much water to provide to the beds.  I coached residents to allow wilting in the hot part of the day and water only once per week with a deep soaking instead of more frequent shallow waterings.
